About the French forums: general information and posting guidelines
Anybody can use the forums. We ask that you register
with the site before using them. But registration is free of charge and is a quick process (no awkward questions
about your tombstone details as with some sites!). The reason for asking users to register is that (a) when following
a discussion, it helps to see who posted what; and (b) in practice, it tends to cut down on spam.
Most topics are acceptable. Please:
- Try and pick the most appropriate forum for your post from the descriptions above
(unless replying to an existent post).
- Keep replies together in a thread when they belong together.
But post a new thread if your question or point isn't related to the thread
you are reading. (So don't reply to a thread about the subjunctive saying "by the way, I have
a question about translating the word 'cat'".)

Moderation
Most postings are made public immediately.
Occasionally, the system may not publish a posting immediately, but instead
flag it for moderation. If a thread is flagged for moderation, it may take a short time
for it to appear, as it will need to be checked by a human moderator. Unfortunately, this
process has proven necessary in today's age of Internet spam and abuse of sites such as
this. Please bear with us!
